Staff Development

Skilled leaders and staff are key to creating, implementing, sustaining and growing the kinds of programs that transform children’s lives. Research confirms what you already know—programs that produce results with children require skilled staff, no matter what the particular program focus.

The Center for Afterschool Education provides professional development at all levels to make a difference where it matters most—with the children and youth in your programs. Our goal is to build the capacity of all programs to make staff development and continuous quality improvement a regular part of practice.

When this happens, children benefit from better programs. Staff benefit from a sense of professionalism and higher job satisfaction. And the organization can benefit in lower turnover and establishing a collaborative culture of doing your best for the children, families, and communities you serve.
