Infuse STEM Activities into Your Curriculum with the use of Manipulatives

This workshop will allow participants to explore how the use of applicable manipulatives will allow facilitators to create STEM-based, inquiry-driven lessons that are fun, engaging, and relative to the global society in which we live. Participants will explore through hands-on activities how to best modify their teaching style for implementation of project-based manipulative driven lessons that promote critical thinking and problem solving. Additionally, we will identify the characteristics of a "good" manipulative and how to determine if it would be effective for specific educational settings while meeting 21st century topics...robotics and changing the perception of education within the low social-economic sector.
