Pre-K through Grade 5 Programming
The Center's pre-K and elementary programs engage children in enriching learning experiences that build 21st century skills, support success in school and promote healthy development.
Our elementary programs offer an environment of active, engaged learning. Arts, field trips and a significant service-learning component are essential features. Homework time extends beyond the assignments to help children learn to manage time, track assignments, and take responsibility.
GraffitiWalls® are active components of our programs. We use them to start discussions, track surveys and opinions, play skills-based games, practice academic content, and share activities with parents.
Even during snack time, staff and students share meaningful dialogue about everything from what's happening in school to serious issues in their lives. We view this relationship-building as a key to success in school and afterschool.
Our program also taps community resources. Students visit local businesses and participate in hands-on activities. Recently, students went to a nearby restaurant and made their own raviolis. They had the opportunity to reflect on their experiences with journal writing and storytelling.

contributing time and supplies, and becoming
involved in activities.
